Mamma Mia! — Studio Design Project
I have loved woodworking since I was young. My grandfather used to take me out when I was 6 to cut bamboo and craft stuff. I learned more through middle school and through my shop teacher I fell in love with carpentry. This is a cutting board I made using maple and floorboard pine. to seal the porous wood I used a mix of tree sap and leftover sawdust of pine to fill in the gaps. I used the natural engrains to burn the center giving the appearance of eyes
As a middleschooler I would pursue carpentry again but taking a different approach as I looked to lean more into hand tools instead of machines. I found the idea of human precision with the tools much more appealing although I would say the feeling of seeing a perfect cut from a table saw is still satisfying as ever.
This is a wooden plane that was based off the design of the Albatros W.8. This was entirely done by hand other than the holes which i was lazy and drilled using a battery powered one.
This is one of the blanks I made for my rings I turn on the lathe which as you can see got stuck on the clamps somehow. Glueing down my cutting board, I couldn’t take any chances that this would shift by even a micrometer
